The Literaturhaus was opened at the historic Salvatorplatz: a center of public events around the book.The house is an architectural highlight of the Munich architect Uwe Kiessler. Meeting place for the writing guild - and, of course, for readers and listeners. The slogan Literature for all senses applies to all floors of the house.

Federkiel is based on the foundation of the same name, founded by Tina and Karsten Schmitz.Today, she is particularly active in the areas of art / culture, education, ecology and enjoyment.

The museum explores the history of coffeehouse culture and recounts the rise of Munich’s Palastcafé during the Belle Epoque and its destruction during the 2nd world war. And shows the Luitpoldblock as it is today.
